Finanztest : Travel expenses cancellation insurance “almost always makes sense”
Stiftung Warentest tested 59 tariffs for travel cancellation and curtailment insurance. AachenMünchener came out top with the grade 1.7 for policies for one journey, as well as for annual policies for individual travellers. Here Stiftung Warentest assessed the convenience of the scope of benefits. Seventy percent of the assessment comprised the general terms and conditions, persons at risk and insured events. The benefits in the case of a later commencement of journey, trip curtailment or interruption and later return made up thirty percent of the overall grade.

In their latest consumer magazine Stiftung Warentest : “For expensive journeys a travel expenses cancellation insurance almost always makes sense. We would recommend this especially if you are travelling with children. It can be the case that, if you cancel your trip a few days before, you can easily end up paying 80 percent of the travel price as cancellation fees.”
