Generali Pensionskasse was founded by Generali Deutschland in 2002. It is a specialised life insurance company offering pension insurance under occupational pension schemes. Like all life insurers, the company is subject to the control of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority.
Generali Pensionskasse does not have staff of its own. The business is operated by staff of the Generali Group on an outsourcing basis.
At the end of 2008 the Generali Pensionskasse assets measured by the sums insured comprised some EUR 4.6 bn. which is equivalent to a market share
of 6.85 %.
For 2009 up to EUR 2,592 (4 % of the social security contribution threshold) can be paid into the pension fund tax-free and without any social security contributions. Depending on the circumstances a further EUR 1,800 can also be paid in tax-free.
The range of products of Generali Pensionskasse includes deferred pension policies with optional provisions for occupational disability and surviving dependants.
